Erotic Art Show

Sunlight Becomes Her, Photo-etching on leaf and wood

What warm unspoken secrets will we learn?

Sparkling Hill Resort, the 149-room European inspired destination wellness hotel, owned by Mr. Gernot Langes Swarovski, patriarch of the Swarovski crystal dynasty, will host the the 2013 Okanagan Erotic Art Show.   This year, the juried art works will explore the theme of Unspoken Secrets which is a quote from the Phantom of the Opera song, "Past the point of no return".

The jury was comprised of international author/artist Nick Bantock, Paul Crawford, Director/Curator of Penticton Art Gallery, and Julia Trops, organizer/founder.

"It was a tough time to narrow down from almost 200 artworks submitted to the selection of the 75 ultimately presented, which includes work from across Canada and the US", said organizer Julia Trops.

Hans-Peter Mayr, CEO of Sparkling Hill Resort is enthusiastic about hosting the Erotic Art Show; he says “Sparkling Hill Resort is delighted to be part of this exciting opportunity.  We are very supportive of local artists and community and are happy to get involved with this project. We look forward to exhibiting some of the spectacular pieces of art throughout the resort this summer.”

"In the past, opening nights have had over 250 attendees. It is easily the most popular art opening in the Okanagan", said Trops.

"Every year I try to step up the event, and there is quite an exciting Opening Night planned for this year", said Trops.   "While it is an art opening, throughout the evening attendees will also enjoy performances by international classic guitarist Alan Rinehart, seductive dances by Vernon's City Dance, a comedic soliloquy by Theatre 86's Jessika LaFramboise, and Kelowna's innovative multidisciplinary trio Musartiqa, composed of artist Angela Bonten, Ballet Kelowna alumni Angel Jutzi, and musician Tony Koenen."

Opening night is Friday July 5th from 7 -1030 pm with a masquerade style party:  costumes are encouraged but not mandatory.  During Opening Night, attendees will be able to vote for the People's Choice artwork with the winner receiving $250 cash. The Sparkling Hill Resort's choice, will also be announced that night, with the winner also receiving $250 cash.   There are a limited number of tickets available and if the past is any indication, it will be sold out.

"I think that the world’s best loved creations are erotic. Consider melodies and concerts like Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, or movies like The African Queen or 2001: A Space Odyssey and plays like Cats and Phantom of the Opera." Trops said.

"These creations tease you, they suggest, they provide longing and desire, they reach down in to our very soul and pull and push and grip to that essence of being human, of being alive."

"Erotic and evocative, presentation and response, regardless if we are an actor, musician, or painter, we all hope for that connection to be sparkling and electric, alive with caresses and whispers, seducing your attention, stroking your emotional funny bone."

"The Opening Night will be a focused mixture of this sensuality: visual and auditory, with Sparkling Hill’s scrumptious appetizers, and luxurious surroundings all to provoke you, intrigue you, add mystery and create wonderful memories, accessible long after the night has ended. "

The show runs July 5 to August 2, 10 am to 6 pm daily.  After the opening, general admission is by voluntary donation, with all proceeds going to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association. Some of the participating artists will be in attendance daily at the Resort throughout the show run. There will be a calendar available on the website http://www.okanaganeroticartshow.com/2013/06/2013volunteers/.

"Since the beginning of the show in 2008, the general admission has been by donation with all proceeds going to a specific charity.  The charity I've chosen for 2012 and again in 2013 is the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, in memory of Tracie Ward, the Executive Director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts from 2005 - 2012. Tracie was the first champion of that first Erotic Show in 2008 and her support throughout the years was invaluable to many artist's creative expression, including my own", says Trops.

Tickets to the Opening Night are $30 and may be obtained by contacting Julia Trops at  info@okanaganeroticartshow.com or on the website at http://www.okanaganeroticartshow.com/2013/05/opening-night-tickets/

It's ridiculously plushy. And within the description, it's listed as firm and anal sex with hot girl. I'm beyond disappointed. Don't recommend it. I wish I could send it back but I desperately needed something to sleep on so I cannot just return this. It's quite upsetting.
